I Get Enough Exercise Pushing My Luck

Honestly, I get enough exercise pushing my luck. You know, they say that luck is where preparation meets opportunity. And if that’s the case, with all that I’ve been pushing, opportunities should be knocking down my door at any moment.

Nothing Will Work Unless You Do

Even if you plan to push your luck, it requires effort. You have to put yourself out there and take action. Scary? Of course, it is. But you never know. Today could be your lucky day.

There’s never really any sure thing in life. You can prep and plan with the best of them. Then, when it comes time for you to take your shot, someone else could be the one to get it. You know, “it.” The girl, the job, the jackpot.

Whatever “it” is, you have to want it. And you have to do everything in your power to get “it.” You can’t possibly hope to get it unless you try. And even then, you need to make sure that luck is on your side.

So, what are you going to do to make it happen?

You can push your luck by making eye contact and using your best pickup line.

You can push it by applying for a job that only has one vacancy and countless applicants.

You can even push it by making a drive to the nearest casino.

No matter what you do to make something happen, don’t forget to throw in a bit of confidence. Go ahead and work on your swagger a bit. And if you happen to have a lucky rabbit’s foot in your pocket, too, all the better.

Get Lucky

Some guys have all the luck, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t some leftover for you.

Too many people complain that they’re just unlucky in life. They sit around waiting for something to happen. Then, when nothing happens, they blame it on being unlucky. That’s not the way the world works. You’re not predestined to be the one who gets nothing while those around you get everything.

My idea of getting lucky is having someone else do the laundry.

Nothing is going to fall into your lap, except for crumbs. Do you really want to be covered in crumbs? No. It’s gross. Don’t settle for the crumbs left behind by others. You have to brush yourself off and immerse yourself in the world.

You need to make the opportunities for yourself. It’s all a matter of how aggressive you want to be. There are people out there every day, pushing themselves to be the best that they can be. They’re taking chances. And when things don’t go their way, they’re brushing themselves off and tackling it the next day. It takes grit to go after you want, but it can pay off in the end.

Maybe you’ll go on a game show and see if you can avoid a whammy. Maybe you’ll buy a lottery ticket. Someone has to win those things, so why can’t it be you?

Push Your Luck

The more you push your luck, the more you can take advantage of what the world has to offer. You might be surprised by the better life that you can have.

You can be met with fame, fortune, love, and all of your heart’s desires. But you have to get off your backside if you want to make it happen. Sitting around reading this blog and wishing that you could be the one to win the Mega Millions isn’t going to get it done. You at least have to have a ticket. Otherwise, you’re wasting your breath.

Lucky people get opportunities. Brave people create opportunities. Winners convert problems into opportunities.

Just like I’d rather sit around and eat extra fries than exercise, you’d rather sit around and procrastinate. And let’s be honest. Neither of our approaches is helping us get anywhere. I’ve still got my beer gut, and you’ve still got, well, nothing to make you feel lucky. We can talk about it, but it’s depressing. All it takes is a change in the way that we look at the world.

So, make it happen. Get out there. Do something so that you can make your own way in life. No one’s going to hand you a winning lottery ticket. No one’s going to throw you down the wedding aisle to wed you to the hottest woman. You have to do it on your own.

Push it. Push it real good.

If You Can’t See the Bright Side of Life, Polish the Dull Side

The bright side of life is when you are winning at everything. You get the job. You hit the jackpot. You get the girl. Everything seems to be going your way.

That’s not always life. So, you have to make do with what you do have. Polish the dull side so that everything is a little better and a little brighter.

You don’t have the best job? That’s okay. Do everything you can to be the best employee. Show that you are capable of taking on more responsibilities. And even take courses so that you can be an industry expert. As those in the military would say, embrace the suck.

You don’t have the most money in your bank account? Again, that’s okay. Make do with what you have. Learn to cook more meals at home. Get thrifty. You might even want to pick up a couple of side hustles so that you can bring in more.

The dull side is only dull because you’re not polishing hard enough. Throw your back into it. Use a little elbow grease. You can get a nice spit shine on life if you’re determined to make it happen.
