While you may know us as the giver of quality erections throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, you may not know that we’ve also brought our erection-giving selves down to Kansas and Texas. And there’s something you might not know about Texas, and more specifically Austin. They’re weird.
We tend to live by a certain motto: Never change to be accepted by others. Stay weird.
Everyone smiles in the same language
Well, what would you know? In Austin, they have a motto for the entire city. “Keep Austin Weird.” It’s a slogan that the Independent Business Alliance established as a way to promote small businesses.
And yes, we consider our pole barn business to be weird. And if you make it weird inside of the barn, that’s your business. Of course, if it’s really weird, we want to know about it. We’re weird like that.
If You Are Like Me, Shout Out
It’s funny how we all aim to be different. But in our effort to be different, does it make us the same? I’m not sure. You want 50k on Instagram. I want 50k in a duffle bag. Maybe we’re not the same?
We need a place where we can be with our like-minded weirdos. It may be a local arcade, a craft brewery, or even a space where we invite our friends over.
I’m not saying I’m superman. I’m just saying no one has ever seen me and superman in the same room together.
Pole barns have been used for gathering spaces because of their size and how they can be customized. It can be a man cave or a she-shed. It’s a chance to sit back and enjoy life without being judged. You can put on your cowpunk rock and dance around in your boots. Or, you can gather around with your anime and Japanese cola.
Be the weirdo that you know you can be. When you’re loud enough, you’ll find your tribe. They’ll flock to you because your weirdness matches theirs. And that, my friend, is priceless when it happens.
Let Your Weirdness Out Like a Beacon
Batman had the bat signal. Superman could hear the cries of those in need from around the world. That means that you need to find your own beacon so that weirdos like you know where to find you.
We all know how to spot people who are a lot like us. It could be the random dude in the grocery store with a beard longer than your own. It could be the loony chick who jogs past your home every morning singing at the top of her lungs. Or it could be that random pole barn out in the middle of Sherman Country with a comment about Brandon on it.
How you create your beacon is entirely up to you and the level of weirdness that you want to portray to the world. It can be established based on your clothing, your decorations, or even your comments to those around you.
When you put out into the world what you are hoping to get back, you can find people who understand you. And don’t feel as though you can’t be who you want to be.
Dwight Schrute said it best: “I am ready to face any challenges that might be foolish enough to face me.”
If anyone is ready to challenge your weirdness, just make it really weird. They’ll either laugh or run away. Either way, it’s one less fool to deal with as you continue down your path of self-discovery.
If You Are Anything Like Me, You Know We’re Weird
I own my weirdness. My wife does not approve of my collection of bobbleheads that look just like me. She says I have a tendency to get ahead of myself.
Lame? Sue me. On second thought, don’t. I’m not sure how good my lawyer is.
Treat me like a queen and I’ll treat you like a king. Treat me like a game and I’ll show you how its played.
Weirdness is something that you usually grow into. It takes time and character to get to the level of weirdness that I have created for myself. Accents, strange faces, off-handed comments, you name it and I do it.
If you are anything like me, you already know that you are who you are. And you can’t apologize for who you are because you probably worked really hard to embrace the level of weirdness that you currently own.
Once you’ve gone so far, there’s no going back. It’s why finding old people with unusual senses of humor are such amazing finds. They may not be what they used to be, but you can still see that spark of weirdness that they simply cannot shake despite their age.
How Do You Like Me Now?
Now that we know a bit about each other, it’s time to get real. And weird. How about real weird?
A pole barn may be a bit out of the ordinary, but it can also provide countless benefits. It’s capable of holding up against all of the elements. And it can be built faster than a traditional building. Oh, and did we mention they are more affordable?
A Sherman pole barn is an amazing feat of architecture. Some would even say that what we build are quality erections. Okay, it’s us. We say that. Hey, we’re weird. We’ve been over this, too. We’re not going to apologize for it.
The great thing about pole barns is that they can be used for anything and everything. Ag buildings, storage facilities, microbreweries, wax figurine storage, tie-dye t-shirt studios, and even residential homes. If what you’re putting inside of the barn is a bit odd, we’re not here to judge.
You’re curious, we can sense it. You and I, we are the same. Well, we’re both weirdos with our own quirky differences, but we’re the same. So, when you are ready to talk about pole barns and how they can make a difference in your life, we’re here.
For now, we leave you with some parting wisdom: Don’t let anyone treat you like free salsa. You’re guacamole baby!
