What the…? How many times have you asked yourself this before? You’re driving around Sherman Country, and the restaurant you swore was on the corner isn’t there anymore. Or the stationery store is no longer stationary because it obviously up and moved to a new location.

People move. Businesses move. It’s a part of life.

Even our belongings up and move sometimes. I swear that my keys have a mind of their own. I set them by the front door, but they’re never there when I’m ready to leave the house.

Life is always moving, too. It can get kind of crazy now and again, though, so you have to make sure that you’re moving with purpose.

“My attitude has always been, if you fall flat on your face, at least you’re moving forward. All you have to do is get back up and try again.” – Richard Branson

While this is solid advice from Sir Branson, I also try not to fall flat on my face. I’ve done it a few times and don’t recommend it. Plus, the bruising can be awkward out in public.

Mitch Hedberg once said, “Last week, I helped my friend stay put – it’s a lot easier than helping someone move. I just went over to his house and made sure that he did not start to load shit into a truck.”

I’m sure that helped. Anytime I can stay stationary, I do. Well, sort of. I like to move, but I don’t like my stuff to move. That’s why I’m so glad I have a garage. My car can go in and out of it, but when I get home, I can always rely on seeing my garage sit there right where I left it. I can only imagine how I’d feel if it suddenly grew legs and walked off.

Moving…Into a New Home

There’s nothing more exciting than moving into a new home.

That’s what she shed. Me, I’d stay put at all times. But “she” is always insisting that a move will be a fresh start. I go along with it because of that whole “happy wife, happy life” concept. Of course, I always manage to negotiate a few things for my own benefit.

Moving can be stressful, so I need to make sure I have a place to go that allows me to relax. A man cave. And with each move, my man cave gets bigger. Of course, I don’t actually have a cave. It’s a garage, and it’s awesome. Sherman Pole Buildings may have had something to do with my new quality erections.

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” – Albert Einstein

It’s a stationary building that sits back a bit from my main house. It’s large enough not only for my cars but also for some of my other toys. It’s got a garage opener on it, a side door, and some gorgeous windows. It’s where I go to think, to get away from anything that’s too stressful, and where I come up with some of my best ideas.

This latest move also meant that I had to concede one thing. I wasn’t the only one to get a garage this time.

Now, my wife has a pole shed on the property, too. She calls it her craft corner, but I’ve seen large amounts of wine get hauled into that building. It’s none of my business, though. It’s where she and her friends go to gather for what they call book club, but I suspect there’s no reading going on in there, either.

Whatever. She can have her she shed, and I’ll stay out of it. A deal is a deal, after all.

Moving…to Find Happiness

Wherever you go, go with all your heart.

I love to travel, whether it’s to Wisconsin for some boating, to Florida for some beach time, or even to Europe to get inspired by the architecture. Vacations can be a way to explore more of our beautiful planet and eat some incredible food.

Getting there is part of the adventure. Since I don’t want to pack up all my belongings and actually move to those destinations, I plan to visit for a week or two. It brings me happiness, but I’m also extremely happy to be back home, where I can lie down on my bed with my pillow.

A cop had just pulled over a U-Haul. He must be trying to bust a move!

Moving is done only when absolutely necessary. You know, like when there’s the need for a bigger home or for a job, or for some other reason. No one moves just because. There has to be purpose. And if you’re going to go through the hassle of packing up all of your belongings and loading a truck, it better bring you happiness.

Otherwise, it might be time to rethink the whole moving thing. If you love where you live and your life can stay where it is, space isn’t really ever an issue. That’s when you call Sherman. You can have a garage or other building built on your property. The moment it gets built, I promise that it will bring you happiness. Especially since you get to customize it to all of your specifications.

Go (to Sherman) with all your heart (so you can get a pole barn). That’s how you really achieve happiness and move in a way that works for you. It’s a lot easier to haul a few boxes into your backyard than it is into a truck and across two counties, so when you’re ready to contact us, we’re here for you.
