Gimme Shelter

When a storm is threatening to rain down on you, you don’t just stand there and get pelted by the water, do you? No. You run for shelter. It’s the common sense thing to do so that you don’t catch a cold. Well, that, and it can be quite awkward to walk around town soaking wet. Most businesses frown on you if you drip on their nice, clean floors.

You might not realize it, but you’re not the only one wanting to get out of the rain (and wind, snow, ice, and hail). Don’t be selfish. You can’t think solely of yourself.

Farming equipment might be screaming out “Gimme shelter.” And if you listen to the screaming coming from your backyard or commercial property, you might hear the screams coming from vehicles, tools, and even some of your favorite outdoor toys.

Their screams can be quite loud. Often, it’s in the form of clanging metal, creaking hinges, and misfiring engines. It’s a horrendous sound. If you can avoid hearing it, you’ll be better for it. Those are the kinds of sounds that can haunt you for years to come.

So, this means that you have a decision to make. You can be a monster and let them all fade away or you can decide that you are going to give them the shelter they’re desperately crying out for.

Pay Attention to What’s Threatening in Your Area

Give me shelter. It’s a simple demand, but you have to know what you’re offering shelter from. It all depends on where you are in the country. If you’re in MN or WI, the biggest threat may be snow and rain. If you’re in TX, there may be floods, wind, and even hail.

Then, of course, the worst storm I ever came across had nothing to do with weather. Those are the emotional storms that can blow through and wreak havoc on your life. But guess what? Even those kinds of storms can affect your tools, vehicles, and equipment. Lock them away and give them shelter so you have less to worry about.

Tree Fall

Physical storms are going to hurt your equipment. Enough cold weather can cause engines to seize. Enough water can result in rust. And all of that is going to hurt your investment. There’s no need to watch thousands of dollars worth of equipment be lost to the weather. It’s just a shot away, so you have to think ahead.

Emotional storms may end up damaging your equipment, too. You may have hurt someone who is going to seek revenge on your favorite toys. If they’re locked away inside of a pole barn, though, you have less to worry about.

Everything will be ok in the end. If its not ok, its not the end.

It’s simple when you think about it: protect what you love.

Snow Shelter

Give Me Shelter

Do something that your future self will thank you for. You never know when there’s going to be a storm or how bad it will be. If you’ve dealt with enough MN winters or TX summers, you know the weather can always sneak up on you.

You’ve already got yourself some shelter. Now, you have to listen to what the rest of your equipment needs. Really, it’s the same as what you want to give yourself. Someplace dry, someplace insulated, and someplace clean.

Throwing a tarp over your expensive equipment isn’t going to offer sufficient shelter. And placing your vehicles under a carport where the wind and rain can attack them sideways isn’t going to do much, either.

Shelter should come in the form of four walls and a sturdy, well-built roof. If you’re not offering that, there’s a problem. And as for any other features that you want, well, don’t be afraid to dream big. Just how much space do you want? Do you want lots of windows? Are you interested in double doors so that you can drive right into the building? Would you benefit from having partitioned walls to create various spaces?

Wind Shelter

Dream It. Believe It. Build It.

A pole barn can be exactly what you need to offer shelter to anything and everything. You can use it for your own personal shelter as well as shelter for your business.

If you have the shelter thing down already, don’t be selfish. You can’t leave everything out in the cold to fend for itself. You’ll be kept up all night every night with their phantom screams of “Gimme shelter.” You don’t want to do that to anything you’ve invested money into, do you?

Home wasn’t built in a day

Investing in a pole barn can be just what you need to make sure that everything is kept dry and safe from the elements.

And if you dream it, we can build it. At Sherman Pole Buildings, we offer custom builds so that you can get the level of shelter that you desire. Consider the sizes, dimensions, and features that you want in a steel building. We can provide you with all of the details or provide you with the base and let you DIY it the rest of the way.

Storm

Creating shelter is something that you need to do now so that it’s ready for you in the future. If you wait until the future to deal with what you don’t have, you’re going to end up replacing your tools and vehicles and other equipment because they’ll be frozen, corroded, rusted piles of junk.

A bit of dreaming and planning is going to go a long way. And, at Sherman, we can help you every step of the way. You’re already in Sherman Country, which means that you’ve seen our handiwork somewhere.

Don’t let your investments fade away. They deserve some shelter. Give us our shot so that we can roll out the red carpet to a beautiful, functional, and fully customizable pole barn. We promise it’s just the kind of shelter your equipment will want to seek refuge in when there’s a storm threatening on the horizon.
